Jeonbuk FC maintained its pride

 

K-League defending champion Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors Football Club stood face to face with National league champion Gangneungcity Football Club, and maintained its pride. The match which was the second round of 2010 Hana Bank FA Cup was held in Jeonju World Cup Stadium in the 21st. It was a hard-fought game for the clubs, but finally Jeonbuk FC cruises into the quarterfinals.

 

Two clubs played neck to neck

Gangneung FC was the one who got the initiative; Jang Hyuk Jin and Jung Sun Uk made confusion in the midfield, and Son Je Woong and Kim Jun Bum launched an attack in the front lines. Then, Kim Jun Bum missed a decisive chance in front of the goal in the 14th minute, to make matters worse, got a yellow card for a fake act.

Jeonbuk FC found a clue to deliver an attack after the 20th minute; as Kim Hyeung Bum kept producing crosses, many chances are created. Lee Kwang Hyun headed in a goal off a cross from Kim Hyeung Bum in the 29th minute.

However, Gangneung FC did not step back, and succeeded an equalizer goal in the last minute of the first half. Sim Jae Won flew him to make a header off Na Il Gyoun¡¯s cross, and shook the net.

 

Replacements made the finish

The offensive and defensive battle continued in the second half. First, Choi Kang Hee, the head coach of Jeonbuk FC, put Lee Dong Gook and Enio Oliveira Junior into the field showing his will for the victory. Immediately, the Gangneung FC¡¯s head coach Park Moon Young replaced with Kim Jang Hyun and Hong Hyoung Ki to create a new atmosphere. The replaced players of Jeonbuk FC scored the next goal; Lee Dong Gook gave a penetrating pass to Enio, and Enio ripped a shot to the goal with faking out.

Gangneung FC let a golden opportunity slip. Kim Jang Hyun got the ball near the goal without any blocks in the 27th minute, but the shooting he tried went beyond the cross bar.

After all, the match ended in a victory for Jeonbuk FC, and the club is on the royal road of four different competitions.
